Events in Manchester

Manchester International Festival (June until July)

MIF is an artist led festival presenting new works from the different disciplines of art; performing arts, visual arts, popular culture, etc. Artists such as The xx, and Bjork have performed here.

Neighbourhood Festival (October)

This is a one day event with over 100 artists and bands from all over the world. These artists perform in the southern side of the city and are hosted at prestigious venues all over the area.

World Black Pudding Throwing Championships (September)

This is an annual competition that dates back to the 1980s. Competitors have three turns to knock down as many Yorkshire Puddings as possible with Black Pudding.

The Greater Manchester Fringe Festival (July)

The Fringe Festival is a multi-venue open access festival that supports various art forms. The festival aims to create an arts community and encourage lesser known artists to participate.
